    You know how you are waiting for a bus and then two arrive…

    Today the PSA Kindle arrived……….and the wonderful Jo at Macmillan lent us an iPad for the weekend’s course session on M-Learning (NOT to mention a Sony e-book reader which is currently charging)

    Revert to boy surrounded by gadgets – hard to use touch-screen and simultaneously explore the Kindle – a bit like learning Moodle and Blackboard at the same time..

    OK – back to preparing the M-Learning session….

    The next question: are e-books addictive?

    Apologies to anyone trying to log onto the site in the last couple of days – it was temporarily down (but the valium seems to have worked)

    We are very excited that le nouveau site is nearly done…again, sorry if you have applied for our Newsletter and I ain’t responded, as we are just gearing up for the website launch

    Check out our events pages – there’s a lot happening this autumn what with the London Language Show next month, and the English UK conference and BESIG after that

    But first, we are REALLY looking forward to this weekend’s innovative course in Oxford……it really will be ground-breaking and we are looking forward to enjoying the wonderful venue thanks to the Oxford English Centre..

  • ETAS – Zurich Posted by Pete on 14 September, 2010

    Hi all. Long time no blog. Well, it’s summer…….and that means teaching……..and of course, Barney and I are writing our next book (with Francis Jones)….

    It was great to go to Switzerland last weekend – a transport system which takes you from A to B in the time it says it will, chocolate to die for… but longer queues than I expected….

    And a GREAT ETAS conference…. I learnt more useful stuff about wikis (wetpaint) and thoroughly enjoyed giving my workshop to such a lively and enthusiastic group of teachers…..

    Flight back home three minutes early and then the queue because passport control was overcrowded (greedy Birmingham airport?) and then the queue because one ticket barrier was broken  - welcome to England, home of the industrial revolution……..
